The hiring of Kevin Young is unprecedented in many ways, including in terms of how quickly it happened —by BYU standards. Dave Rose retired on March 26 and Mark Pope was hired on April 10 (16 days). Pope left BYU on April 12 and Kevin Young was hired on April 16 (5 days).
