Recruiting, program management and such - good experience
Some really good points. With regard to these, and #3, #4 and #5 - some interesting stuff. Young gave an interview where he talked about the difference between being an assistant vs. head coach, and he noted that the amount of decisions you make as the HC is the biggest difference. Couple thoughts:

* Recruiting - Kevin Young apparently has more connections to the recruiting world than folks give him credit for, first of all. Pretty high-level ones, actually. Second, he is widely regarded as a tremendous communicator, which is a big characteristic for a good recruiter. With support and resources behind him, I think he'll do pretty well. Already been making calls to key players, apparently, as well.

* Program management - Since Kevin Young has been an assistant at the major NBA level for 8 years, at least, he's done a lot of media interviews in the sports world. Seems well-spoken, confident and insightful. He won't be as charismatic as Pope, but I think he'll be sincere and do just fine with media stuff. Also, he has handled attention to the best players in the world - seems like he picked stuff up along the way.

* Game management - He's been a very involved assistant as associated head coach, as well as the head guy for three developmental league teams. I'm sure he'll keep growing. He's a student of the game.

Looking forward to the Young regime.
