Fwiw, average home in alpine costs more than the average home in many of the nice suburbs of NYC metro area. Yes. Really.
Taxes obviously much lower and general cost of living is lower. But it’s not the cost of living arbitrage that it used to be 10-20 years ago thanks to the massive influx of people into Utah.
Biggest difference is quality of public schools in nice NYC suburbs is significantly better than Utah public schools.
