There are always two groups of people that make it fun.

Group 1: unrealistic expectations.

These guys always reply to threads about solid candidates for the job with things like “ya but this guy doesn’t have any head coaching experience at the P4 level.”

This group always seems to think there’s a BYU version of Luke Fickell or Mark Few out there with higher level experience if we just look hard enough.


Group 2: the diamond in the rough.

These guys show up every single time. Supposedly respectable, competent, contributing members of society come in and say things like “do you think Steve Young would consider the job?”

After Bronco left I remember one or two guys saying Scott Collie should be considered.

This time around we heard people calling for Danny Ainge and Quincy Lewis.

It’s never a huge group. But it’s a fun group.


Anyways, now that we have our guy, I’m going to miss these groups.
