That eliminates a lot of candidates these days from the prospect pool. KY will still need to navigate that effectively before and after they're on campus no matter who might be interested. The last thing that KY and BYU need to start his career is a "scandal" or ineligible players.

Not to be a wet blanket, but that is the first thought that I had when I saw that some of KY's NBA guys were pledging to help out with recruiting. BYU will always remain BYU, and rightfully so. So certain players, interested in KY's NBA experience and contacts or not, will never be a fit at BYU.
