over the last week or so has been a good life lesson.
Over the past few weeks my sons have asked me to sing them the fight song before bedtime, it's a pretty frequent occurrence but it has been every night for the last little bit (couldn't be more proud).
After the news broke about Pope, then all of the transfers, etc... I found myself singing to them and jokingly wondering why I was raising them to be BYU fans because we can't have nice things and they are just going to be heartbroken and let down throughout their fandom. Again, this was somewhat of a joking thought not something I really was giving credence to. Then the Kevin Young hire comes through, BYU signals they are willing to pay and play with the big boys, it's done in short order and at least from a pre-season perspective it seems to be a slam dunk hire.
Taking a step back it just reminded me that everything works out in the end. Over the last year or so I've had some pretty rough spots in my life, and had to keep reminding myself that everything always works out for our good. Jesus Christ is undefeated, he always bats 1000, and he never has, nor will he ever let me down. True, sometimes we are in valleys, but we can rejoice knowing that there will be peaks, even if we can't see them yet, and they will be that much better because of the valley's we've been in. Even if they aren't here right now, good times will come again.
Anyways, that's my random basketball/spiritual thought for the day. Go Cougs!!!!
