I think part of the angst is that he just up and left. No farewell message, no letting anyone at BYU know,
recruiting players before officially being hired, etc. It was a little bit of a two-faced dirtbag move.
Plus I think there are people on this board who have been saying for a while now that Pope was a little two-faced in their interactions with them and now I think a significant portion of the Pope bashing is those people gloating.
