I am sure that a lot of players have a great affection for Coach Pope, while others may not and had closer connections with other staff. He's a competitive, ambitious guy - and the head coach has to make a lot of tough decisions. Playing time. Rotations. Who to sit or who to cut from the team.

I appreciate what Coach Mark Pope did in representing the program well and bringing a lot of excitement to BYU basketball. He recruited very hard and brought in players from beyond the traditional scope of recruiting. He did a lot of good things off the court for a lot of people.
