He was very complimentary of the NBA and teams he was on, and emphasized how his favorite part of that was the relationships formed through hard work. He was not talking down on the NBA, or giving anything to insinuate that he wanted out of the NBA. He just said that he never had aspirations to be a NBA Head Coach, as his ultimate goal, as others thought. He talked of his love of working closely with players, helping them develop in day to day drills and work, and getting to know them on a level that head coaches rarely do.
He spoke of his love for the college environment, which is different from the NBA, as the passion for a school is different, and that he looked forward to forming similar relationships at BYU, but will definitely miss the day to day interactions with NBA players, some who will be in the Hall of many
