Make sure you do Jamestown, Yorktown, and maybe water tour of Norfolk Navy shipyard
Seeing such great history and a nuclear sun is cool. Nearby Norfolk is where the first clash of ironclads took place, Monitor and Merrimack.
There's some great restaurants around there too. Make sure you have some genuine Virgina Ham. Here's one we particularly liked, and we consider ourselves foodies:
