The surrounding areas are also massively underrated. It is the gateway for most visitors to zions, Death Valley, havasupai, etc. Lake Mead Rec Area can be awesome, especially the areas of the Colorado River south of the dam. And the Mohave preserve, Valley of Fire, and redrock NRA are all spectacular

I also like the grittiness of downtown and the campiness of the resort area, but I know that’s not for everyone
