Whatever money Dallin Hall demands is not the going rate for any solid P5 player as some are lamenting. Dallin was an Honorable Mention All-BIGXII player, a top player in the most top-heavy conference in college. He was top 50 nationally in total assists, top 50 in assists per game, and top 30 in assist:turnover ratio. I counted only 17 total power conference players who were top 50 in assists per game, passing the ball effectively against top defenses is extremely difficult and a sought after skill in the college game.
Given our other options next year, I think we would regret if a deal was not made for Dallin, our limited athleticism demands a good facilitator and the league we are in would expose our ball handling flaws in a hurry without it.
Retaining Dallin Hall should be viewed as the top priority if we want to be competitive next season.
