BYU is special, but maybe I’ll listen. Maybe the Lord is trying to tell me that it’s time for me to stop being so fanatical about collegiate sports and spend my time and money on things that really matter. Focusing on a lot more temple attendance is becoming more and more a priority to me than collegiate sports will ever be again. All the athletes do deserve to be paid. There’s no doubt about that, but when the collegiate sports system now becomes feeder for professional sports, and now we’re having to pay high prices for minor-league sports at the collegiate level, it’s just not the same and not worth it anymore.
