rebounder Edey is and weaker. Much worse free throw shooter than Edey. Bad 3 point shooter (25%). Edey has more upside than Clingan as Zach is still learning the game. The fact that Edey is good at the line leads to believe that he might be able to develop a serviceable 3 point shot with work, something which they never worried about at Purdue. So how do you figure Clingan is a better prospect?
Let's talk in 3 years. It is possible neither one will be a star, but it is nonsense to argue Z Edey can't make an NBA roster for years to come. See Rudy Gobert to appreciate a poor FT (which Edey is not) and 3 pt shooter but strong rebounder and rim protector (who is smaller than Edey) who has made a nice living in the League.
