I don't even know what I'm getting at other than to say if I was a kid in school and didn't really have a shot at the NBA (99%), money would only be part of the decision. Experience at the school, the location, the coaching, and the school degree would all be just as high. Because 100k gross income is gonna disappear like the wind in real life and you have to start your career right after in sales or accounting or engineering etc. .
Now, do I think most athletes do this evaluation? No. The group as a whole is not known for their long term money management skills outside of a few. It's why collectives are trying to get mentors now as well to help with that stuff. Who knows if it will work.
