Change last year completely upended things. It is not a normal market, where Hall and Saunders and BYU have a good idea what they're worth until they declared it for the portal. Then there are middleman getting paid to push players to certain places. Those middleman aren't getting paid if a person stays at the same school.

Even then it is super inneficent and not transparent. The biggest issue is schools should be paying for players directly. They can't do that so this makes it very crazy and there are rules about four years and having to go to school, which are sometimes enforced but usually not now.

With no contracts they should do an auction for all the players at the first of each year
