of loyalty, and "you don't get something for nothing in life," and even that "money isn't everything" are important things we need to learn as adults too. Or, what about the law of the harvest, that we reap what we sow. I truly understand young people going after the big money, but they are not reaping what THEY have sown. They are reaping what others have sown. An agreed up stipend and a scholarship would be fair, but this system surely is not fair to the coaches and fans who have both invested a lot in the teams that THEY are committed to.
