I agree that will absolutely happen. And many other coaches will try to sell
their program to top LDS recruits as Coach K did with Jabari Parker and Frank Jackson, or as Andy Enfield did with Brody K, and as Scott Drew did with Caleb L, and as Pollard at Kansas, Pope himself at Washington, Madsen and Jocobsen at Stanford, Vroman at UCLA, Burgess at Duke, Johnson at Utah....Richie Saunders isn't the first and he won't be the last. Pope will have his recruiting spin, just like any other big time coach going after a big time recruit. I just don't think Pope will have a corner on the market of the big time LDS recruit who choses to play somewhere else than BYU. I think you will continue to see the same historical pattern of a smattering of some here and there. It won't be it's either BYU or Kentucky and nobody else when it comes to the top recruited LDS basketball players.
