Good, but not really great, players who were extremely unselfish and the team returned a great deal of experience from the previous season.

Likely, the most dominating attribute of their early dominance, beyond the less than stellar competition but taking that into consideration BYU was still beloved by the metrics, was the returning experience. Likely, BYU was punching a bit above its weight early due to that and that set BYU up for a great year and a good NCAA seed.

It was a really fun season with a rather disappointing ending.
