I think they can do them, but they are truly “open”.
Meaning any and all can show up to play, not just kids on the team or invited by the coach.
A lot of coaches use it as extra evaluation time to see what kids they like before tryouts.

Varies from state to state but AZ did away with restrictions.

Correct, in Utah they do have “moratorium” dates that coaches can’t be involved

“Can’t” be mandatory. Coach can be there but has to be skill based learning
