But Bush accepted illegal benefits to choose USC. He'd have been the same player at Texas or Oklahoma or anywhere else. He might not have won the Heisman somewhere else, but he deserved the Heisman that year, and taking it away never made sense to me. USC should be punished, and Reggie could have lost eligibility if he'd still been in school (which would have been fair, IMO), but taking away the Heisman was nonsense.
