As far as disrupting the opposing defense, I'd bet KY runs "inverted actions".
Here's an example of it. I can't imagine many college big men know what to do when their man takes the place of a guard.

on the roster but with someone getting downhill the big is already on their heels and you can get depth to get low and kick out for a three on the backside either by the man in the corner or quick extra pass to take advantage of the 2-1 situation there. It's fun action
