If players have time it seems like the prudent thing to see what offers are out there, carefully consider the pros and cons of each, and take the time needed to make the best possible decision.

I suspect most players in the portal are there because there was/is uncertainty about BYU's future and what their role will be if they stay. If they have time, it makes sense to wait to get as much clarity as possible before making a decision.

I'm sure NIL can play a huge role for some players. And I have no clue how BYU's NIL currently stacks up to other P4 schools.

Bottom line, it's probably a wise and prudent thing for players to take the time needed to make a good decision. Having said that, I do believe that the longer a player is in the portal the more likely it is that they return to BYU.
