Generally in sports some level of stability is needed for them to be interesting
So pro sports are a market, but that market generally gravitates to contracts and promoting people fans can rally around.

So I could see NIL deals moving toward multi-year commitments with potential claw backs on one side and performance bonuses on the other.

Also, in pros the ownership tends to benefit somehow. NIL all coming from boosters without financial benefit seems like it will lead to NIL money drying up for many schools that don’t get even performance return on investment let alone actual monetary ROI.

Gonna be interesting. But you can’t blame fans for wishing for personalities/people to cheer for.
