I don’t want these individuals to be on athletic scholarships at all. Those need to be reserved for true “student” athletes.

I realize this will mean the quality of athletes at our universities will be not at the “professional” caliber. I can live with that. It will still be competitive and those that represent my school will stay for years, and I will grow to love them as a team. They may even stay until they graduate. What a concept that would be.

This has pretty much always been the case for baseball. Let farm leagues like AAA teams exist for other sports and have business people pay their salaries.
