Maybe pro/rel will work here eventually. But I hesitate to get behind it without compelling evidence it will actually...
grow the game in the US. Many forget that MLS is barely 15-20 years removed from insolvency. And each top league tried before MLS failed here.
You also need to consider what it does to smaller clubs that earn promotion. In the Premier League certain criteria must be met. You might earn your way up but not be able to meet minimum stadium standards, etc.
