The Falcons just signed Cousins to a 4 year $180M contract 1 MONTH AGO. Then they take a QB in the top 10. If Cousins played out his contract, Penix would be going into his extension year and would be 28 when the season starts. So in all likelihood they will have to make a decision on his extension without him playing meaningful football as a starter and he'd be 28.

More importantly perhaps, they have a ton of holes to fill on that team. They could have taken a playmaker, a DE, or trade back and filled 3 roster spots with Top 40 picks. Instead they take a QB that will almost certainly not play for 2 years and very very likely for 4 years. Absolutely wild.
