I play with a guy sometimes who is VERY focused on his speed of play and making sure he isn't holding anyone up. It's
great for two reasons:
1. We always have a nice, brisk round
2. If anyone has to wait AT ALL behind us (which is always the fault of groups ahead of us), he gets very stressed and his game falls apart. The guy is like a 15 handicap, but as soon as you put someone behind him holding their hand up to their eyes he turns into a 25 handicap.
