The competition is not as good as in the USA
Not so say there aren’t great players but you never know how they will be against the US kids.
For example, one of the best alberta teams came to Utah a few years ago and got beat pretty bad by Orem. I think it was Oren’s only win that year. They weren’t good
That team went undefeated in Alberta and dominated everyone Some good players but none that got looks in the USA
It costs a ton to recruit up there and there are thousands of kids so close here that are probably better prospects.
Tanner was a stud but had to prove himself at SUU. He injured his leg and if I remember right there were questions about his health. Arizona wasn’t too good at the time nd they took a chance. He did great and got drafted
