The owners of the Gateway said that they had not been approached by
Smith, the City or the County.
As I just posted, in a reply, Smith wanted to build the hockey arena elsewhere but that the leaders of the Legislature encouraged to stay downtown.
It appears that the State is the driver of this proposal. The legislation that allowed for almost a $1B in support, also mandates that the city and County have a general plan in place by September 1.
