Maybe once every ten to fifteen times I fly is Southwest even close to

competitive on price. All of my flights are out of St. Louis. The only times in the past 10-20 times I've flown that Southwest has been reasonably close to Delta or American were flights to Miami and Long Beach. Every other time I've checked them, they've been $100-$300 more than the legacy airlines.
