I knew you are in the medical field and highly respect your opinion and comments, so I was surprised by you recommending Gatorade. With your WHO reference, I was not sure if you expected me to really follow up or not. When I did, I found lots of articles condemning Gatorade. I was not sure if you expected that or not. Based on your comment, I expected to find WHO recommendations in favor of Gatorade, but instead found the opposite.
If you are prescribing 50% diluted Gatorade with added salt, that makes a lot more sense since that is now closer to an electrolyte composition. And much better than nothing.
My personal experience with Gatorade is that it makes me sick when I am in need of hydration. Gatorade has an effective marketing machine, promoting a terrible product which is not healthy for most people and contributes to our sugar saturated society.
