Utah attempts to sabotage Big-12 against taking BYU by providing unsolicited feedback they were "bad partners" and trying to keep BYU out. Among other reasons, Utah is successful in keeping BYU out of the Big 12 during round 1 expansion, and the Big-12 nearly collapses a few months later. Had Big-12 taken BYU back then, Big 12 would not have teetered, might have kept OU and TX and been better off today. Utah was very nearly successful at destroying Big-12.

Utah convinces Pac-12 its TV deals should be tens of millions more than offered. Pac-12 turns down a conference saving offer and fails to realize it's terribly precarious situation with the revitalized Big-12 strength with BYU among other teams.
