I don’t think his actions on and off the court show a preference for fame over
winning.

I also think you can want to be the most famous athlete in the world and still prioritize winning. He has said and done things that he had to know would turn people off, and he doesn’t seem to have cared.

Jordan may not have said it, but he absolutely wanted to be the most famous athlete in the world. Do you think Jordan didn’t pay attention to how well his shoes sold compared to Magic or Isiah? I would have to laugh out loud if you say yes to that.

But like I said, I don’t think wanting to be the most famous athlete in the world and being a champion are mutually exclusive

In my opinion, Of the two, Jordan was way more careful about protecting and cultivating an image than Lebron. Lebron is way more willing to act in a way or say something that might offend his fans or reputation. Jordan was one of the most brand conscious athletes that has ever played and he almost never publicly veered from that brand
