good option relative to everything else. I’ve heard healthcare professionals lament that they could have easily gone into other fields (finance, law, tech, etc) and made more money at a younger age all in an easy 9-5 setting. The reality is that a job like that is pretty dang rare. I think a lot of healthcare professionals don’t realize that. Most other industries have challenges, stress, and long hours too. And the pay is far less consistent across the board than medicine.
Medicine certainly isn’t perfect, but compared to other fields it’s still a pretty good bet if that’s where your interests lie.
