Are we talking about typos or edits that change the intent? I think fixing typos
is actually a time and confusion saver for future readers. And I think it's lame when someone jumps on a typo five seconds after the original post and I'm already in the process of fixing it.

Changing content to make it seem like you intended to saying something else is another matter. An "I was wrong" or and "I misspoke" is better.
