I honestly didn't know what category to put this in, but I just had a really hard call at work with an elderly woman who ended up giving me a lot more information than I think she meant to, but she is really going through it right now. Was just in surgery for her hips and then had major oral surgery and no longer has most of her teeth. She's on a lot of government assistance but it sounds like somehow while she was in the hospital, her food stamps are no longer active (I don't understand this process whatsoever but it's clear that she doesn't really have any food right now). She has also currently lost access to her form of transportation. I have no personal connection to her, and all I know about her is her name, the name of her apartment complex in Millcreek, and her phone number. If I knew her apartment number, I would probably just try to anonymously drop off some money (I'm not exactly wealthy but I have enough to give).
I'm honestly just feeling lost right now because after the phone call, I can't stop thinking about her situation, but I don't really know how best to help. I know there are a lot of experienced and intelligent people on this board, so I guess I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone had any thoughts or ideas?
