I’m not an economist, but I’ve read a number saying we don’t want prices, apart from a few select things like oil,
to go down. Deflation is a destructive spiral that ruins an economy. You want inflation to be minimal and incomes to catch up.

This is what happens with high fuel costs . . . everything costs more because things need to be transported
