jacobugath INSUFFERABLE KNOW IT ALL
Help me understand how you think Avatar is pretentious.
I fully admit that I think Avatar is a perfectly fine slice of entertaining film. But under the pretext that pretentious means 'attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed' how do you consider the highest grossing film of all time (while also gathering strong critical and audience scores) to be a pretentious film? I know that on CB it is very cool to hate Avatar, but outside this internet bubble, many (most) people do actually like the film.
