I got to court and found out I was going to have to register as a sex offender because there was a school less than 100 yards away or something (behind a huge concrete sound deadening wall).

A lawyer at the courthouse told me to do a plea in abeyance (I had never heard of that before) and it would get removed from my record and I wouldn't have to register as a sex offender. So I did that and had to pay like a $300 fine and got a year of probation.
