I don't believe it makes a difference in their ability to coach.
I don't believe MP would ever not give it all, no matter where he was coaching.

Where it can be a difference is your willingness to stay at BYU. MP was fiercely drawn to coach at his alma mater and I would suspect he'll stay at UK until they fire him or he retires.

KS may or may not stay at BYU for his entire coaching career if it is up to him. Earlier in his career here, I believe it was more of an issue where other programs could pay him more, but now that we're in the Big 12, and we can pay him a competitive wage, I could see him being a lifer.

I believe it was in Bronco's court to stay or not at BYU. I believe he liked BYU, but he wanted a different challenge. He had made mention of other types of coaching challenges he might be tempted to take. He seemed to like the academies and upper crust (academic) type schools (Nothwestern, Virginia, Stanford).

So, yes, I don't believe it makes a difference in their ability to coach. It can factor in though in their desire to stay at the Y.
