we were more of a basketball school than a football school. At least prior to Van Valkenburg and/or Virgil Carter.
I know that is ancient history, but your own hypothetical of winning 5 basketball national championships in a row would go a long way in flipping the script. When is the last time anyone won the NCAA tournament 5 years in a row? Too lazy to look it up. Do you have to go back to Wooden’s run at UCLA? Winning 5 in a row would garner more respect for the basketball team than our football team has ever had. BYU basketball fans would be crawling out of the woodwork!
