I had 8 years under a VP that was amazing. He put you first always. Of 20 years in software that is the only time I have
Encountered that.
Some are always cruel, most are very nice when things are good, and then immediately go into CYA mode with the slightest adversity. It’s cultural for sure - it’s like that all the way up the chain.
I am 2 months into a new leader and the jury is still out. She seems like an amazing leader so far.
Edit: I forgot about a CFO and CEO I interned for early in my career. Both amazing people in a $500M company.
