The temptation may be to reuse the prothesis for someone else since they are so expensive, but I can't imagine someone else wanting to use someone the arm/leg of someone who died. Sounds like a great prompt for a horror novel.

Technically someone already did this with the 1993 movie "Body Bags," except it was Hair and not a prosthesis.
