That seems like a reasonable approach. I can see it being disrespectful, but no
more than any other assertive argument about a call.
I also concur with your thoughts on summer league games. I've seen some refs treated like trash. During one of our recent tournament games, the opposing coach got into a shoving match with the ref and then one of their players spit on the ref.
