Yeah there's a debate. Big, easy money early having fun playing a game is a
world different than the daily grind for 35 years like most of us working stiffs. Blowing the easy money playing a game where you have to work at most 6 months of the year does not necessarily prepare you for the real world of work.

You MIGHT have learned how to manage the comparatively little money money you earn with a regular job; however, there are some people who blow through their money no matter what they make. Just this morning I heard a news report that said 25% of Americans over 50 have nothing saved for retirement.

I have met people in my life who had a well paying job, lost it, and landed a lower paying job. I can remember them giving half-hearted effort and complaining continually how their current job was garbage, and they weren't going to work hard for the lower pay. In their minds they were worth and deserved higher pay for no other reason than somebody had paid them more previously.

So it all depends upon the kid. If they worked in college and earned their degree, despite blowing half a mil, then they are more likely to have learned from the easy money. If not....
