I'm scheduled for hip surgery in a few weeks, so am reduced to hobbling around for the moment. The Southwest agent actually recommended I do it (and another told me their hip surgery was great and I should definitely have it). I can't take emergency exit but having access to more legroom in the front row, with some space in the overhead bin since no one is on board yet, has been a life saver.
