Underrated songwriters. Their era tends to be obfuscated by 80's glamour/synth.
Primarily the first half of and the mid-80's (1982-1986). They wrote some really great pop songs at the time, with many more overall hits than most of the bands that were big then and that tended to be one-hit wonders in that era.
They also had some good stuff in the early 90's.
