Think about what would happen if a solar flare shut off gravity, first you would
be flung off our rapidly spinning Earth. From your vantage point in space you would see large blobs of water exit oceans, lakes and rivers.

The air would become less dense and you start to suffocate as you watch the earth heat due to a lack of an atmospheric buffer and you would see the water boil off into space.

The northern lights are no joke.
