My brother and I drove out West toward the desert and found a good dark spot. We nearly called it and then decided we'd give it 10 more minutes. About 2 minutes later it just went wild. Columns stretchine over 70% of the visible sky all the way to the East and almost behind us. The coolest part was the pulsing/shimmering waves of light that were moving. I wish I could have captured that on camera somehow. Could definitley make out color, especially purple, though not as vibrant as the camera. It was incredible. Lasted for about 20 minutes. It was almost a spiritual experience.
